Great American's Mergers & Acquisitions Liability Division underwrites primary and excess Representations & Warranties (R&W) Insurance, Tax Indemnity Insurance and Tax Credit Insurance. This division handles policies of up to $50 million in limits.

The M&A Division of Great American is currently recruiting a Representations & Warranties Insurance Underwriter to join our team as an Assistant Vice President. This position will be based in New York, NY.

Responsibilities

* Underwrite Mergers & Acquisitions risk based on the analysis of purchase and sale agreements, financial statements, offering memoranda, due diligence reports and data room documents
* Negotiate and draft bespoke insurance policies.
* Oversee agencies relationships and establish contacts with key producers.
* Review and approve opportunities for, and spearhead development of, new business and / or programs.
* Actively participate in divisional strategy and vision.
* Review and interpret competitive information, and decide on appropriate action based on competitive landscape.
* Partner with Great American underwriting leadership to ensure appropriate and profitable underwriting; provide expert guidance for high level underwriting decisions in support of M&A division objectives.

Qualifications

* M&A transactional experience or R&W Insurance experience strongly preferred
* Bachelor's degree; plus, JD, MBA, or CPA designation preferred.
* Must be detail oriented with exceptional analytical skills. Must be client oriented and able to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
* Excellent relationship building skills are required.
