Strategic sales focus on key accounts will include DTC (e-commerce and retail), sporting goods, and department store wholesale channels.ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESStrategy & InnovationStrategically cultivate new accounts and seek opportunities to expand business with existing accounts; strategize means to penetrate new markets; oversee development and maintain business relationships with customersOversee development of line plan for each brand, in context of larger assortment and cost structure; review and approve seasonal business proposals for each customer, with suggested assortments based on marketplace and customer baseRegularly review and evaluate business model(s); guide research and competitive analysisDevise and articulate brand positioning and key strategic initiatives for brand, where appropriate;strategize optimal placement in store, including, where applicable, in-store shopsOperations & ResultsEnsure that Sales Teams regularly review shipments and orders, sales and stock levels, merchandising and markdowns with Account Executives; guide problem solving and negotiations where necessary; suggest and approvePartner with Planning and Finance to set sales goals and articulate business metrics, and motivate teams to deliver results; guide strategies and approve recommendations to maximize sales and minimize markdownsTravel frequently to customers and partners to meet with senior leadership and ensure proper in- store execution; attend trade shows as necessaryCustomers & RelationshipsManage the cultivation, development and maintenance of relationships with new and existing customers; partner closely with customers at VP/GMM levelOversee communications and feedback between customers and internal partners in Sales, Design, Production and Retail CoordinatorsPartner with planning and customers to plan and oversee co-op, allowances and givebacksLeadership & TeamsContribute positively to team dynamic and manage up where necessaryLead, train and coach team in selling, negotiating and presentation skills; strategize staffing needsacross categories and brands, where appropriateMonitor and evaluate performance of individuals and team(s)Attract, develop and retain talent; create appropriate succession plansSkills and RequirementsSuperior organizational skills and excellent communication skills; team oriented and outgoingAbility to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented and meticulousStrong analytical skills and fluent in retail mathBachelor's Degree7-10 years experience in wholesale apparel salesProficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with SAP a plus
