Research and Development Technician GenNext Technologies is seeking an outstanding, highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and resourceful Research and Development Electro-Mechanical Technician to work with our research and development, engineering, manufacturing, and product support teams. Requirements: The successful candidate will: provide service support for in-house and field installations of GenNext Technologies products; work with R/D, Engineering and Manufacturing personnel to assemble and test GenNext instrumentation; work with GenNext R/D personnel, engineers, consultants, and collaborators in the creation of new prototype instruments and test fixtures by constructing prototype devices guided by the use of mechanical drawings and electronic schematics with a minimum support from design personnel, procuring required purchased parts, and co-ordinate the delivery of machined parts. Moreover, the successful candidate will work with manufacturing and r/d personnel to perform incoming quality control functions for purchased and fabricated components; work with R/D to insure proper stocking levels of laboratory supplies; work with R/D personnel to design and implement a routine instrument maintenance and test fixture calibration schedule for laboratory equipment; and oversee general maintenance and physical organizational requirements for the R/D and Engineering labs. The successful candidate will demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism while interacting with fellow employees and company cliental, as well as an innate ability to establish, manage, and maintain client-company rapport. Qualifications: This position requires: at least two years post graduate experience in a research and development environment; AS or BS degree in electronics, engineering, and/or physics; proficient knowledge of basic electronics and mechanical design; experienced in the design of simple test fixtures and simple prototype circuits; reasonable instrumentation skills, including an ability to trouble-shoot instrumentation when provided with electronic / mechanical documentation. The candidate must demonstrate: the ability to work from electrical schematics and mechanical drawings; the ability to use basic electronic test fixtures such as digital volt meters, analog and digital oscilloscopes, frequency generators, signal generators, etc. Good English language verbal and written communication skills. Good organizational skills. Good team player.
