The Agile Master Coach will help drive our organization to increasingly higher levels of performance by elevating the knowledge, understanding and application of Agile principles, practices and tools by executive business and technology leaders.
This role will report directly to the Discover Management Systems' (DMS) Master Coach and operate complimentary to other teams within the DMS Center of Excellence organization. The Discover Management System is how we lead & manage at Discover. Within DMS, we leverage lean and agile mindsets and practices to manage our work and lead our teams. Through DMS, we are striving to create a culture of continuous improvement within all areas of our organization.
The person serves as a champion for our DMS transformation and an expert coach as well as strategic thought partner in Agile principles and methodology. Specific responsibilities include:
Champion the executive learning strategy on Agile methodology for Discover's c-suite leadership providing a clear educational approach to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to be fully effective leaders, role models and coaches within the core practices of our new way of working, and to drive the maximum business impact from this transformation
Work with lean based colleagues to bring lean and agile concepts together for the executive team as we create one overall way of working at Discover with DMS
Challenge leaders to create a culture of continuous improvement and accountability to improve their KPIs, including growth, quality, speed, efficiency, productivity and customer satisfaction
Engage with executive leaders to provide expert coaching and perspective to supplement and enhance the activities of the DMS Center of Excellence community of coaches.
Advise Center of Excellence leaders in the planning and execution of transformation activities, including means to accelerate the cultural and behavioral change necessary to support core Agile practices
At a minimum, here's what we need from you:
Bachelor's degree required, majors in business or technology centric disciplines is preferred. MS or MBA additionally preferred.
5+ years leading Enterprise Agile Transformation with methods such as XP, Scrum, Lean, or Kanban and scaling Agile solutions such as SAFe, LeSS, Nexus, DaD, SoS
10+ years of Product Development and Agile Leadership experience
Hands-on experience applying Lean/Agile methodologies within software, infrastructure, hardware, and operational environments

Industry recognition as a senior expert with a significant track record of coaching leaders and teams to significant improvement
Strong change management and influence skills; ability to negotiate and communicate across all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to make courageous recommendations and decisions to drive significant organizational change.
Experience working with senior leadership of an organization required with excellent oral and written communication skills.
