The Role You'll Play:
This position is responsible for the recruitment of early talent into DICK'S Sporting goods through the University Relations full-time entry-level programs, undergraduate internship programs and early identification programs.As a part of the University Relations team you willbuild meaningful and collaborative relationships with campus influencers (students, faculty, staff, student organizations) at strategic campuses in order to build talent pipelines from top universities across the country.You will represent DICK'S Sporting Goods at career functions (career fairs/networking events/classroom visits), implementing and participating in the interview process for both full-time hires and interns, and positioning DSG as an employer of choice among the nation's top collegiate talent.Additionally, you will manage all aspects of the internship programs from design, implementation and evaluation.Finally, you will serve as an advocate for early talent, charged with assimilating college hires into the organization in a cohesive manner.
Identify and select candidates for complex roles, ranging from entry-level talent for training programs, leadership development programs and undergraduate internship programs. Hires for positions that are of high-focus and visibility for the company.
Influence hiring decisions by assessing talent through behavioral based interviews and candidate engagement.
Facilitating selection discussions with interview teams and extending job offers.Able to critically evaluate candidates to have the necessary skills as well as the interest to sustain a long term career with DSG.
Manage, coordinate and execute on-campus recruiting activities including career fairs, presentations, career panels, case competitions and interview days.
Partners with all levels of the organization including senior management to execute all components of the university programs.
Networks within the marketplace to understand competitive landscape, stays up-to-date with current best practices and research by NACE, and share knowledge with leadership on an ongoing basis.
Work with University Relations Manager to develop hiring goals and recruiting strategies for both target schools and virtual candidates that are communicated to internal and external partners.
Determines effectiveness of programs by using identified metrics that influence strategies, hiring plans and school selection.
Informs and educates hiring managers on the campus recruiting life cycle planning and their role in the process.
Serves as a SME for college recruiting and has the responsibility to learn about all areas of the company to better communicate the necessary skills for career success.
Manages the summer internship program, including but not limited to planning development workshops and social events, delivering feedback and assisting with performance evaluations, facilitating train-the trainer workshop and maintaining program budget.
Acts as a coach/mentor to approximately 20-25 summer interns; provides coaching and feedback around performance and professionalism.
Takes a leadership position on university initiatives for campus hires at our headquarters location
Ensure recruitment process is compliant with all employment laws and internal best practices
Review student applications, resumes, and other credentials. Conduct phone screens and in-person interviews. Screen and refer candidates for additional interviews. Lead the scheduling of interviews with interview teams. Provide timely follow up and correspondence to candidates and internal partners.
Bachelor's Degree- Business, communications, human resources, public relations or related field
2-4 years of recruiting experience, preferably within a campus recruiting team at a Fortune 500 company or 2-4 years of experience in Career Services/College Admissions
