A Senior Data Scientist is responsible for conducting advanced customer marketing analysis that generates insights. This position is responsible for the creation, deployment, measurement and maintenance of models that will improve the ROI of all customer contacts. The models will be leveraged to inform the targeting of customer populations for direct (email, mail, etc.) and digital (display, search, social, etc.) marketing campaigns. This position is also responsible for collecting and analyzing customer data, and generating insights which improve the customer experience, drive customer acquisition, and improve customer retention. Activities include using advanced analytical tools with customer data, conducting quantitative and qualitative customer research, and performing other ad hoc analysis as needed that create actionable insights.
The Role You ll Play:
Collect and analyze customer data, generating insights which improve the customer experience, drive customer acquisition and improve customer retention.
Translate business objectives into surveys and analytic approaches and hypotheses, balancing art and science.
Guide development of large sample consumer surveys, partnering with 3rd party survey vendors.
Develop/maintain predictive models to improve performance of direct mail and other customer contacts.
Lead application of advanced analytic techniques such as multi-variate regressions, logistic regressions, and latent class segmentations.
Develop comprehensive understanding of customer segments and leverage insights to assist in creating plans to increase customer value.
Review customer data for trends, patterns, and causal analysis to assist in understanding our customers behaviors and attitudes.
Assist with the design, execution, and analytical support of primary customer research (qualitative and quantitative) to assess customer satisfaction with current programs, products, initiatives and offers.
Clearly summarize data and analysis in a simple and concise format.
Increase relevance of marketing efforts and drive ROI through the development and implementation of targeted segmentation for direct and digital marketing efforts based on disciplined analytical analysis.
Develop campaign forecasts for each individual campaign to anticipate campaign performance.
Extract and transform customer and transaction data in preparation for analysis.
Utilize SAS or other analytical tools to perform advanced data manipulation and analysis (modeling, simulation, segmentation, etc.) to inform the targeting of customers for direct and/or digital campaigns to increase customer relevance and drive ROI.
Design and execute valid test and control strategies for campaigns, offers, and seasons.
Ensure all campaigns are set up and executed according to appropriate targeting models, specifications and rules.
Make recommendations for improving targeting and measurement strategies and processes.
Accurately measure and evaluate effectiveness of CRM targeting strategies across a year, season, piece, channel, or customer group.
Develop and execute measurement and reporting which accurately reflects business results and informs future decision making for CRM campaigns and offers.
Conduct ad hoc reporting on individual campaigns, as needed.
Translate reports and analysis to distill actionable insights.
Clearly communicate results through multiple formats (trend summaries, scorecards, presentations).
Serve as subject matter expert for offshore analytics support team.
