The Psychologist Program Manager provides administrative control and programmatic leadership for the specialized residential program within the service, assures a full range of professional and direct care services, coordinates research and program evaluation projects, and develops a training program in conjunction with educational institutions. The Psychologist Program Manager assures compliance with increasingly complex procedures and statutes in licensing, clinical privileging, and continuing professional education. The Psychologist Program Manager is responsible for ensuring that the residential and homeless programs achieve and maintain full accreditation status with accrediting bodies such as the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and Committee on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). The Psychologist Program Manager ensures that the building in which the residential programs are housed is in full compliance with all safety and security regulations. As Psychologist Program Manager, the incumbent has both local and national level responsibility for the continued professional and scientific development of VA residential and homeless programs. The Psychologist Program Manager establishes a program evaluation and training program within the Domiciliary that promotes advances in areas related to Domiciliary Treatment Programs (e.g. homelessness). This program develops relevant theoretical frameworks, designs appropriate assessment and treatment methods, and conducts appropriate outcome and process-improvement measurement and data analyses. . This program also serves as training and development center that assists in creating cost-effective residential and homeless programs, conducts training of both VA and community staff and directors, and serves as a clearinghouse of knowledge.
