ROLE SUMMARY
The Sr. Director Category Management will be located in Nashville, TN and is responsible for minimizing risk and maximizing the value delivered to Delek across a portfolio of goods and services, for non-hydrocarbon third party spend, with a focus on Strategic Category Management. Leads a team of Category Management professionals in order to identify, evaluate, develop, implement, and manage category plans and strategic sourcing initiatives across Refining, Midstream, and Retail. Leads and/or facilitates cross-functional teams that utilize spend analytics, market intelligence and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modeling to identify and leverage key opportunities to deliver value, optimize supplier pool and mitigates risk to the business. The Sr. Director Category Management has direct reporting and performance management responsibility for 5 -10 employees, including developing and coaching category managers and category specialists to enhance SCM capability. Accountable for leveraging
enterprise-wide spend to maximize value, mitigate supply risk and optimize how we go to market.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Manages a portfolio of categories to optimize the supply base and deliver financial benefit from supply chain improvements and strategic initiatives. Constantly seeks and identifies opportunities for value creation (cost savings, cost avoidance, revenue enhancement) and risk reduction.
* Oversees the execution of strategic sourcing processes for assigned categories from market intelligence, business base-case, and development of scope to commercial negotiation, supplier selection, and contract execution.
* Collaborates with relevant category managers, contract administrators and internal and external stakeholders to:
1. Develop strategic category plans, sourcing strategies, and engagement plans
2. Provide direction and input into category management priorities and deliverables
3. Oversee the execution of sourcing initiatives that are aligned to business objectives and leverage value across refineries and/or logistics operations
* Drives diligence around economic analysis, cost modeling & TCO in support of strategic sourcing events & bid evaluation. Develops credible business case for strategic direction of category, supported by market data, commercial objectivity, and relevant business and technical factors
* Works with site stakeholders to understand the demand/spend profile, various category and sub-category risks and business requirements for category plans and sourcing projects. Ensures appropriate business involvement at all stages of the strategic sourcing process
* Ensures ongoing market analysis and leverages supply chain knowledge to understand and articulate market trends, which may impact internal stakeholders and category strategies
* Drives, supports and promotes the use of appropriate Category Management and supply chain tools, templates and systems.
* Direct line accountability for overseeing Category Management team, while delivering Strategic initiatives in collaboration with Operational Supply Chain Teams, ensuring to balance local spend vs. leveraging category spend to maximize value across Delek's enterprise. Develops and strengthens the talent pipeline across the SC Function to enhance capability and ensure succession plans.
* Establishes and maintains measurable performance metrics for all levels of Category Management activities to include (but not limited to) spend under management, commodity market intelligence compliance to category strategies, delivering synergies, integrations of new assets into category spend and Value Creation.
* Ensure all staff actively collaborate across SCM, other support Functions and the business units to ensure alignment and coordination. Continuously improve the team's understanding of field operations and ensure we continuously strive to leverage spend across the enterprise.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
* Minimum BS/BA degree in Procurement, Business or relevant field.
* Masters or MBA preferred.
* Procurement and Supply Chain Certification a plus
* Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible procurement, supply chain, commercial, contract development, or contract management or relevant experience required:
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in Category Management and Strategic Sourcing
+ Minimum 5 years of management experience leading teams & working collaboratively across various business and functional areas, including multiple geographic locations
+ Minimum 5 years process-based industry experience, or similar preferred
SKILLS
* Ability to develop negotiations strategy and conduct supplier negotiations with the capability to meet targets, manage concessions and deliver results
* Ability to analyze and interpret data for use in decision-making and actions in support of business strategy, including TCO and should cost modeling.
* Must be a strategic thinker with confidence and speed in execution.
* Excellent influencing, negotiation and analytical skills are required
* Demonstrated ability to drive change with a focus on continuous improvement
* A supportive and hands-on inspirational leader, who is able to act independently
* A strong collaborator across the business, Supply Chain and other support Functions
