Job Description The Sr. SQL Server Database Administrator position is a highly skilled technical position that involves intricate knowledge of the SQL Server database internals and components associated with 2012, 2014, and 2016 versions. This will position will require on call responsibilities. Responsibilities include database software installations, configuration, tuning, maintenance, patching, backup and recovery, monitoring, problem diagnosis and resolution. - Manage all aspects of the physical database including schemas, DDL, users, security, etc. in development, UAT and production environments - Identify and resolve problems occurring in all database environments including performance related issues (i.e. database & SQL tuning). - Perform database software installs, configurations, patches, upgrades, and migrations. - Support DBA utilities, reorgs, index builds, export/import and DBA tools (SQL Server Management Studio and other tools) - Assist with performance and Disaster Recovery testing. - Interface with project and architecture teams to collect and implement database requirements. - Serve as SQL Server technical lead providing solutions and alternatives to database related issues with ability to work directly with vendors when required. - Possess an automation first mentality - Lead database portion of a project from inception through deployment assigning and tracking tasks of DBAs assigned to the project. Required Qualifications Minimum 5-8 years experience working with mission critical SQL Server databases in a high profile fast paced environment. Minimum 5 years experience in the following areas: Database configuration, tuning, maintenance, patching, upgrades and problem diagnosis and resolution. Extensive experience with the following: - SQL Server High Availability Configuration - Failover Clustering and Always-On Availability Groups - SQL Server Backup and Recovery - SQL Server Replication - SQL Server Monitoring and Alerting - SQL Server Disaster Recovery Planning and Testing - SQL Server software installation and maintenance - SQL Server SSRS, SSAS and SSIS services Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Windows OS and Linux Operating Systems - Experience with other database platforms such as Oracle, DB2 UDB and MariaDB - Experience with automation and DevOps tools and services - Experience with scripting and programming languages Powershell, .Net, XML, and Java Education Bachelor's degree/ foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or Verifiable High School Diploma/ GED with equivalent experience Business Overview Its a new day in health care.
