*This role can be remote but ideal locations are; Oakbrook Terrace IL,Exton PA andAustin TX The Manager, PMO will balance their time and productivity between the oversight and management of the ISS Project Management Office and direct project management duties and extends across product launch and change initiatives. Assigns work based on multiple criteria while balancing workload across team members. Guides and directs the implementation of best practices and expectations for performance. Applies a skilled mix of people, process, policy and project management expertise in a consistent fashion for efforts of variable size and complexity. Leads the development of a team of Project Managers and Project Specialists, with a constant eye on opportunities to further the value and contribution of the function to the larger organization. Ensures projects are completed per constraints including time, cost and quality, acting as an escalation point when appropriate and in the best interest of the project and organization. Collaborates and interfaces with stakeholders at all levels; provides portfolio-level project reporting on a regular and ad hoc basis as required. PMO Quality & Governance Develop & refine best practices, processes, project management tools, and PMO templates. Incorporate input from team while maintaining authority over each component. Continual focus on improvement measures. Drive change management activities for larger-scale process improvement efforts as well as flexing for variability of necessary project management formalities. Seek out feedback from critical inputs to all aspects of the PMO; analyze and plan for key improvement opportunities. Determine unilateral project report protocols, create and generate high-level portfolio dashboard report for leadership awareness. Portfolio Contributions Maintain high-level awareness across all projects within the PMO; intercede as escalation point on projects as necessary. Effectively manage competing demands and business priorities as part of the ingestion process. Skillfully negotiate with stakeholders when competing priorities present; escalate to leadership when agreement cannot be reached. Project Management Strive to meet both the expressed and implied needs of the stakeholders and project teams through active and pertinent communication, effective and deliberate meetings, and complete project management artifacts. Create and executes formalized project plans including stakeholder register, discovery, and risk assessment. Manage to identified and unidentified risks, requirements, and schedules with a primary goal of project success; demonstrate a keen sense of urgency through proactive escalation to Director or project sponsor when necessary. Stress the importance of documented analytical success metrics where applicable to ensure minimal risk to the project or the organization. Conducts retrospectives at the end of complex projects with the purpose of adding value to the overarching process as well as recording lessons learned for future similar projects. People Management Directly lead and develop associates within the PMO, including workload balancing, targeting areas of expertise, and identifying opportunities for growth and skill development. Create and promote a collaborative environment in which knowledge and skills are shared to facilitate efficient and timely delivery of projects. Contribute to strategy and growth planning conversations with leadership, maximizing the benefits of existing resources. Applies a sense of ingenuity to optimizing the efficiency of associate effort and use of allotted bandwidth. Define and formalize performance measures for all roles and levels within the team. Monitor projects in flight to ensure they are being managed properly and with the appropriate level of engagement and urgency. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Business or related field 10+ years of Project Management experience Project management certification (CAPM, PMP, etc), or equivalent experience, required.
