The VP of Mission Integration provides local leadership to ensure the mission, values and heritage of Covenant Health and the local facility are integrated into all aspects of the organization.  Promotes a values-based organizational culture, and provides guidance, consultation and assistance to leaders in understanding and fulfilling their responsibility for mission integration into their area of service. Works collaboratively with other Mission leaders on system-wide initiatives. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities  
Collaborates in the development and implementation of meaningful mission integration strategies, initiatives, and formation programs in order to integrate our mission and values into our decisions and daily work. These include mission services, spirituality, and corporate and clinical ethics.
Leads and supports local initiatives for continuous learning about issues and activities to strengthen the Catholic healthcare ministry; e.g. Catholic Identity, care of the poor and underserved, ethics, social justice, social accountability, and sponsorship. 
Coordinates all local formation/education programs related to mission, ensuring adherence to system-wide program objectives.  Participates in system-wide formation programs as faculty.  Participates in new employee orientation and rotation programs. 
Collaborates in the development of a system-wide assessment program for Mission Integration. Actively works to support and implement performance criteria.
Ensures the availability and on-going improvement of pastoral/spiritual care services within the local facility. Prepares appropriate services, reflections, prayers and blessing for occasions within the hospital and the community at large. Fosters an environment where people of all faiths/religious denominations feel affirmed and well served.
Plans and leads local departmental staffing initiatives, including recruitment, supervision, evaluation and development of staff.
Collaborates with Catholic healthcare organizations, ministries and other agencies to promote mission-related endeavors and outcomes.
Works closely with the system ethicist to ensure the availability of ethics education and consultation at the system and local levels, gaining guidance and consultation as needed.
Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health and the Catholic Health Ministry.
Participates in significant departmental initiatives. Maintains collaborative team relationships with peers and colleagues.
Leads the Community Health Needs Assessment process for the facility.  
Oversees the Community Benefit reporting for mission-related activities including preparation of the annual stewardship report.

Job knowledge and skills 
•Grounded in and knowledgeable about the Roman Catholic religious tradition. 
•Demonstrable commitment to the highest standard of ethical and professional conduct. 
•Proven success in the development and implementation of programs, policies, and processes to enhance mission/values integration and development into management and governance practices in a health services environment. 
•Knowledge of and appreciation for the Catholic healthcare ministry and issues significant to its effectiveness: ethics/religious tradition, the Catholic faith tradition, moral and social teachings of the Church, religious congregational structures and organizational functions and the spiritual dimensions of healing and healthcare. 
•Evidence of current knowledge of theological and ecclesial principles, developments, and issues as they relate to the healthcare ministry. 
•Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills; skilled in facilitation, presentation and negotiation.  
•Outstanding organizational and project management abilities. 
•Analytical and problem solving skills and excellent judgment a must. 
•Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook) and database management. 
•Ability to work under pressure and challenging deadlines and adaptability and flexibility required.   
Education & Experience 
•Bachelors degree in healthcare management, theology, spirituality, behavioral science or related field required, Masters Degree preferred.  
•A minimum of 5 years of senior management experience in mission integration in Catholic health care or a related field with similar experiences.
