The hours and days will vary, depending on departmental needs. May be required to work weekends and holidays.
Requirements and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Must be able to read and write English.
must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Specific Job responsibilities:
Uses universal precautions at all times to prevent injuries (i.e., work gloves, goggles, etc.)
Uses personal protection equipment as required (i.e., hearing protection and or eye protection)
Must be able to operate heavy machinery.
Maintain grounds, including landscaping, & general maintenance.
Keeps working tools and equipment and work areas clean and in good condition.
Must be available when assigned an on-call status.
Performs related work as required or as delegated by Department Head.
Must have working knowledge of lawn maintenance equipment and basic upkeep.
Inspects and maintains the ground, cleans areas and assists with landscaping by cleaning sidewalks, mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, raking and weed whacking
Repair, Clean and assist in the installation of plumbing, heating, refrigeration, laundry or sewer equipment and machinery; may cut and thread pipes, reset sanitary fixtures and repair pipe lines.
Use a variety of hand and power tools in construction, remodeling or repairing doors, window frames, floors, cabinets, furniture, moldings, scaffolds, and steps; may install locks, and refinish furniture
Upkeep of driveway when delegated
Conducts monthly inspections of all equipment including fire extinguishers, emergency generators, emergency lighting and carbon monoxide detectors
Drug screening and criminal background check conducted on all applicants being considered for hire.
