The role of Associate Director, Data Products is to own components of the core data products roadmap, deliver product requirements with prioritized features, partner and collaborate with data engineering and data science teams to design, build and launch core data products, and manage communications with internal customers and leaders. This is a pivotal role in the data division at Condé Nast and will support the data capabilities across the company’s business groups, with a focus on growing its ad supported and consumer revenue streams and building new data-driven businesses. The core focus of the Associate Director is to support the development of the data platform that will support strategic goals of key Condé Nast stakeholders and ensuring that we are aligned with and are supporting the high level company goals.
Understanding our external customers and the problems they face in the market
Translate the Product vision into a cohesive product line plan that includes buy vs build
Take ownership of an idea or vision and bring a product to life
Work with the Data Engineering, Data Science, Marketing Sciences and other cross functional teams to define product release requirements for data and analytics solutions
Develop and maintain the product roadmap and strategies based on competitive industry analysis, market research and business analysis
Gather business requirements, build consensus on optimal solutions, and work actively with the end users and developers throughout the SDLC process with minimal supervision required
Validate roadmap initiatives through combination of approaches such as in-market tests, pilots, analyses and research
Develop business cases and analysis plans to prioritize roadmap initiatives for execution
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to elicit data and analytics product requirements
Work with cross functional teams in support of and championing products across the product portfolio, including its surrounding systems and go to market
Ensure that business goals are met and allow us to reveal powerful usage insights and drive strategic decision-making for customers and the industry
Champion ongoing competitive, market, and user research to ensure product decisions are based on sound use of both qualitative and quantitative data
Cultivate a customer-centric, results-driven data engineering organization
Document and maintain workflows and processes
Coordinate change management in databases/processes with minimal user interruption
Take an active role in Agile project management using Atlassian tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
Support immediate remediation and long-term solutions when data anomalies are identified
Passion for data is a must

Have a passion to seek a deep understanding of customer needs and turn that insight into a compelling vision
5+ years of Product Management work experience in a top tech company, payments company or innovative technology startup (or equivalent experience)
Worked with BI tools and clear understand of converting data to business value
Have a collaborative work style with strong desire to work in dynamic, fast paced environment that requires flexibility and ability to manage multiple priorities
Outstanding written and oral communication skills
Strong execution and ability to drive work to completion
Excellent organizational and teamwork skills
Ad Tech Background a must
Prior technical experience in data science or data analytics is a big plus
