Under the direction of county management, you will supervise a maintenance crew in maintaining Department of Transportation Roadside Facilities and other roadside operations as needed. This position will have you plan, assign, prioritize and evaluate work of subordinates; determine personnel, equipment, and material needs; produce weekly work plans scheduling personnel for 7 days a week, 2 shifts per day; interviewand select employees, evaluate employee performance, approve or disapprove leave requests, initiate disciplinary action, determine subordinate training needs, coach and counsel employees, and resolve problems; and demonstrateand assist crew in proper work and safety methods.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
One year of experience as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator;or one year of experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant.
Possession of a valid certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators as a wastewater treatment plant operator that is equal to the highest applicable class and type of wastewater treatment plant to be operated.
Certain positions require possession of a valid certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater System Operators as a water treatment plant operator for the class and type of water treatment plant to be operated.
Certain positions require possession of a valid pesticide application certification issued by the PA Department of Agriculture for category 24, Swimming Pools.
Must obtain Electronic Discharge Monitoring Reporter (EDMR) Certification within 6-month probationary period for reporting purposes.
