The Central Resource Pool is composed of experienced Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and Nursing Technicians who float throughout the facility to all the units within their particular scope of practice. Our Nurse Techs bring a variety of experiences to Johnston-Willis Hospital and to our patients. The nursing departments floated to by our Nurse Techs include: Critical Care Units: ICU and Neuroscience ICU Telemetry Units Medical/Surgical Units Orthopedic Joint Replacement Unit Oncology Women's Health Unit Emergency Department PACU We offer our Nurse Techs flexible scheduling guidelines, education opportunities and much more. Skills and essential functions you will perform: Demonstrate the knowledge and skill to provide care to the cardiac/medicine patient under the direction of the professional nurse. Perform job tasks to ensure personal, patient and departmental safety. Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers. Document required information according to hospital policy. Function in an organized and time conscious manner. Present self in a professional manner. Use computers proficiently. Demonstrate proficiency in using the cardiac monitoring system. Qualifications EDUCATION: Current enrollment in accredited RN nursing program with successful completion of at least one clinical rotation. Theoretical instruction combined with clinical experience (required) LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required) EXPERIENCE: Successful completion of a Nursing Fundamentals Course (for RN student nurses). Recent computer experience- data entry and retrieval. Experience with medical terminology.
