JOB DESCRIPTION: Assists teachers/administration by performing clerical tasks and/or preparing instructional materials and by working with small groups. Monitors appropriate student behavior. Works under the direction of a licensed staff member. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Performs basic clerical duties such as typing, stapling, filing, duplicating, taking inventory, scheduling repairs, maintenance, data entry, word processing, administering tests, grading, recording of grades, laminating, ordering supplies, placing phone calls, materials distribution and light bookkeeping. 2. Prepares instructional materials under supervision of a certified staff member. 3. Works with small groups of students to reinforce instruction in and out of the classroom. 4. Assists on field trips. 5. Assists in the procurement/preparation of classroom materials. 6. Assists in fire drills and emergency evacuations as necessary. 7. Monitors and reinforces appropriate student behavior during various activities such as play, lunch, detention, in-school-suspension or in the classroom as required. 8. Supervises student assistants. 9. Maintains confidentiality of student records. 10. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. EXPERIENCE: Less than 1 year JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school diploma or equivalent 2. Ability to work with adults in a team setting 3. Clerical skills 4. General office equipment 5. Organizational Skills 6. Ability to work one-on-one or in small groups with students 7. Communication Skills
