Client Manager

The Client Manager is responsible for high-level relationship management and acts as the client liaison during delivery of a professional services engagement or an outsourced solution. Strategically focused and responsible for client satisfaction, maintaining client communication, and the overall management of the client relationship. Works to grow the client relationship by identifying new business opportunities. Works with delivery team to execute on contract terms and conditions and to ensure on-time delivery of projects that support the clients business.

Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.

Works in business unit, business center, or headquarter location interacting with managers, directors and/or non-exempt employees. The Client Manager is responsible for managing the day to day client relationship by developing and maintaining positive client relations and coordinating with various functions within the company to ensure client requests are handled appropriately (i.e. within time and budget) while balancing client needs with company profitability.

Location: Remote/Telecommuter role. Must live close to a major metro airport and be willing to do 40-50% overnight travel across the country. Preferred locations are in the Central U.S.

Job Description

  • Client Management: 40%
  • Proactively manages client requests for additional information as it relates to: payer trends, system interfaces, compliance, coding, regulatory changes, and budget variance and cash flow.
  • Identifies trends and recommends actions to ensure maximum productivity and profitability.
  • Stays abreast of internal and external changes to understand current and future state and provide value to the client.
  • Serves as the liaison between the client and operations
  • Identifies client improvement opportunities to enable the most efficient workflows for the clients account receivable
  • Client Business Reviews and Meetings: 25%
  • Drives and delivers business reviews/client meetings on a regular basis with high level of planning and professionalism.
  • Prepares agenda, handouts, and presentations to ensure all client needs are being met as it relates to: financial performance, current trends, future needs of the business, operational excellence, and metrics.
  • Works collaboratively with Operations and Analyst to ensure proper information is reviewed and presented.
  • Grows footprint in own service area: 10%
  • Works with Director of Account Program Engagement to identify areas for up selling opportunities based on client needs and industry changes.
  • Provides guidance on new/current service offerings based on industry trends and changing client needs.
  • Coordinates with other BU functions: 15%
  • Works collaboratively across functions to ensure operational excellence related to AR, payments, coding, customer service and all related services.
  • Ensures mutual understanding of goals, objectives and action plans related to Clients revenue and book of business.
  • New Client Implementations: 5%
  • Collaborates on new client implementations including: system interfaces, client set-up, contract review and liaison with Legal, and operational setup.
  • Minimum Requirements :

    5+ years client management experience with hospitals and/or health systems


    Bachelors degree; or 6+ years of relevant work experience. Masters degree preferred.

    Critical Skills :

    3-5 + years experience with patient scheduling. Specific experience in scheduling for outpatient diagnostic preferred.

    MS Office Applications Experience is required. Advanced knowledge of Excel (i.e. creating pivot tables and doing formulas) and experience creating PowerPoint presentations

    Experience presenting to and working with hospital administration is required

    Reporting experience is required. Must be able to analyze the reports and determine where there are opportunities for improvement, then create action plans based on those findings, and follow-through on those action plans and report results back to the clients.

    40-50% overnight travel

    Employees in roles that require travel will need to be able to qualify for a company credit card or be able to use their own personal credit card for travel expenses and submit for reimbursement.
