We are currently seeking experienced candidates for the position of Enterprise Infrastructure Analyst. The CSU Chancellor's Office, located on the waterfront adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific in downtown Long Beach, is the headquarters for the nation's largest and most diverse system of higher education. The salary range for this classification is $6,249 to $12,100 per month.
As part of the California State University (CSU) Information Systems Infrastructure project team, the Enterprise Infrastructure Architect will be responsible for architecting, deploying, and supporting CSU's Enterprise Infrastructure environments. The position will also integrate, administer, and troubleshoot all aspects of the tiers of the Enterprise Systems like PeopleSoft HR/CS and Finance Applications for optimal performance and system capacity. As a member of the ITS Technical Services team, provide direction and participate on projects in the development, documentation, and support of the Enterprise Systems like PeopleSoft. These complex systems projects require maintenance and coordination with the 23 campuses, ITS application team members, integration with other products/vendors and interfacing to internal/external systems. This position will also provide coverage for after-hours on-call support as required. This Enterprise Infrastructure Analyst will provide coverage for after-hours (including weekends) on-call support as required.
Under general supervision of the Manager of Infrastructure Services, the Analyst will provide direction and participate in development, testing, and implementation of PeopleSoft infrastructure and third-party vendor applications; support preparation of time and cost estimates for proposed integration of Enterprise systems like PeopleSoft Human Resources, Campus Solutions and Finance Applications and tools, upgrades and other project activity; and undertake special projects as directed.
Typical duties to include such systems and duties defined below or any other tasks as Technical Services are responsible for maintaining:
-Responsibility will include configuring application including but not limited to the CSU's PeopleSoft Enterprise and ancillary third-party applications.
-Installation, monitoring, and integrating third-party applications with PeopleSoft.
-Upgrades system by conferring with vendors and services; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements and new software.
-Responsible for administration and managing application deployment environments.
-Script and automate routine maintenance tasks as appropriate.
-Maintain awareness of all Oracle and PeopleSoft software updates and coordinate implementation with Technical Services and Development teams.
-Collaborate with network and server team on implementing the necessary network, server, and operating system updates.
-Lead and coordinate technical planning and development effort for the implementation of CSU's enterprise private, public, and hybrid cloud models.
-Implement and improve on existing system practices and processes.
-Manage and support campus Mobile and Web Service Implementations.
-Provide technical support with roll-out and implementation of the CSU's iPaaS solution.
-Evaluate and recommend tools, processes, and changes to efficiently and effectively provide support.
-Coordinate and manage collaborative campus committee meetings.
-Provides coverage for after-hours on-call support as required.
The Enterprise Infrastructure Analyst is also responsible for any other duties as assigned. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for keeping current in the industry, including technology changes, trends, and best practices. The incumbent is also responsible for addressing any concerns regarding technical operations with the appropriate supervisor.
ON-CALL RESPONSIBILITIES: There is a staff rotated week-long responsibility to support our operations 24/7. Staff is expected to respond to issues/problems/tasks in off-hours and weekends.
This position requires:
-A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
-Requires 5-7 years' experience with installation, administration, and maintenance of Enterprise systems like PeopleSoft on a large scale as well as supporting tools for those environments.
-Requires 5-7 years' experience in a production IT environment responsible for IT infrastructure, hardware, hosting service, and network areas.
-Requires 5-7 years' experience managing and administering Web Servers (Preferably WebLogic) and Middleware Technologies.
-Requires 5-7 years' hands-on experience with LINUX in bare-metal and Cloud-based infrastructure.
-Requires experience with managing key authentication, and encryption technologies (SSL certificates)
-Prefer experience with engineering, architecting, or supporting AWS solutions.
-Experience with web-based services and protocols (HTTPS, HTTPS, REST, SOAP, TUXEDO)
-Proficiency in high-level scripting languages (Python preferred) as well as script environments such as Korn and BASH.
-Experience with CIDC DevOps workflow automation tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, and Puppet.
-Working knowledge of TCP, IP, and other network protocols. Familiarity with DNS, DHCP, and other network services.
-Working knowledge of VMware or other virtual software.
-Requires demonstrated experience in leading, designing, and implementing complex infrastructure projects and meeting deliverables per the project's project plan.
-Knowledge of managing a data center in terms of systems monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
-Requires knowledge and understanding of principles of capacity and performance management.
-Ability to write analytical design documents or review design documents provided by others in support of designing large scale Enterprise Systems.
-Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills needed to work effectively with a wide variety of ITS clients, outside consultants, and vendors.
-Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and the ability to apply trends to analytical needs.
-Excellent understanding of Enterprise IT, including cloud, networks, compute and storage, and end-user computing.
