The Card Design team is seeking a Sr. Director to join our Welcome Team.

The Position
We are looking for a passionate and seasoned leader to work in close partnership with senior executives from business, marketing, engineering, operations, and brand. You will lead a high-performing and innovative team of strategists, designers, researchers, writers, and front-end developers. You will inspire the team to envision, design, and deliver game-changing experiences to help people connect with the best product and engage in a dynamic experience. You'll work side by side with some of the most exciting design leaders in the world who bring inspiration, heart, critique, and camaraderie, and are committed to changing banking for good.
Key responsibilities
* Lead a diverse group of designers to partner in the creation of new experience across the Capital One Card Site and Application experience
* Partner with the Performance Marketing team to create customer experiences that drives acquisition and increases conversion
* Be the go-to partner in Design for product, marketing, business, and operations leaders. You will be sought out to participate in forming and reforming strategy, product vision and execution plans
* Prioritize design efforts and design investments within the portfolio of digital products, consulting on and aligning with the needs of product and business partners
* Guide and grow the design leaders within each design team that reports to you, enabling them to scale and create value through the products they deliver with their team and partners
* Partner with Design Directors across key parts of Capital One to seek out and shape integrated experiences that connect more parts of our customers' needs and experiences
* Collaborate with peer design leaders to orchestrate the greater experience ecosystem, find efficiencies across shared technologies and common service moments, and unlock higher order value from the cross-line-of-business perspective
Basic Qualification
* Bachelor's degree
* 12+ years experience in a leadership role leading Customer Experience, Product Design, or related customer-facing marketing teams
* 8+ years of experience managing a cross-functional team of designers, writers, strategists and marketers
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in design thinking/ human centered design
* Experience in influencing performance marketing agendas that align to best in class customer experience
* Demonstrated experience building relationships and influencing partners
* Demonstrated leadership of a cross-skilled experience team within a large scale, high tech company
* A great listener and a crisp communicator, with strong business judgment and analytical skills
* Ability to connect analytical data with practical solutions in a real-world environment
* The desire to collaborate, learn and continue to evolve the team
* Experience in financial services is not required, but experience navigating a complex and highly regulated ecosystem will be
