HII- Mission Driven Innovative Solutions Inc. (HII-MDIS) is currently seeking a Deputy Program Manager to work out of their Fairfax, VA office.

HII Mission Driven Innovative Solutions (MDIS) is a business group within Technical Solutions; a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) that delivers professional services to a wide variety of government and commercial customers worldwide. HII MDIS has over 2100 employees worldwide who deliver critical services to our DoD, IC and Federal/Civilian customers across five service portfolios: IT and Software Applications; Modeling, Simulation and Training; Mission Engineering and Operations Support; Intelligence and Cyberspace Operations; and Logistics and Lifecycle Management.

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), Mission Driven Innovative Services (MDIS) is seeking candidates for a senior program role providing support to the Air Force Modeling and Simulation community at our Orlando, Florida office. This position will manage daily operations for a large, geographically dispersed (CONUS/OCONUS) program. Contract support includes highly specialized operational, technical, and innovative M&S/LVC programs and missions. This position will ensure contract execution and work jointly with the other program staff to establish and maintain excellent relationships with the Government.

  • Communicating effectively with Government POCs, HII-MDIS leadership, contract PMO staff, and subcontractor teams to achieve program and mission objectives

  • Assisting in the management of a diverse set of geographically dispersed (CONUS and OCONUS) technical and professional contractor staff

  • Managing daily operations to include staffing, budget, cost, schedule, and technical performance as assigned to ensure that program requirements are met/exceeded as defined in the contract

  • Providing and applying programmatic strategic improvements and operational efficiencies

  • Monitoring contract delivery and resolving customer issues

  • Working closely with HII-MDIS Project Control to ensure accurate cost estimating, responsive scheduling, and compliant execution

  • Providing review and input for cost management, including (but not limited to) estimating, funding, budgeting, for staffing and contract award fee evaluations

  • Functioning as backup for the Contract Program Manager as assigned and required

  • Qualifications and Experience :

    Required –

  • Seven (7) years of progressive experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in a business and/or technical concentration that provides foundational knowledge for managing complex government contracts with annual run rates of $75M - $100M

  • Current Project Management Institute (PMI) PMP certification or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification

  • Familiarity with automated work-flow and process tools for task management, estimating and budgeting, risk assessment, work authorizations, etc.

  • Experience in hiring, training, problem resolution, and employee relations including subcontractors

  • Experience leading interdisciplinary teams, managing subordinate groups in diverse locations, interfacing effectively with senior management, and managing technical and non-technical staff

  • Experience implementing project management principles, e.g., project plans, work breakdown structures (WBS), and cost analysis

  • Deep experience implementing project management principles, managing, tracking, and coordinating over a wide range of actions, documents, and tasks simultaneously through completion.

  • Proven expertise in assessing and providing guidance for resolution of mission critical problems, policies, and procedures

  • Superior proficiency in oral and written communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Top Secret (SCI eligible)

  • Preferred –

  • Ten (10) years of progressive experience

  • Master’s degree in business or engineering; training in DoD M&S policies, architectures, and standards

  • Experience managing, coordinating, and facilitating a staff in a DoD/Federal Agency environment

  • Mastery of data analytical and reporting tools

  • Demonstrated experience planning, directing, coordinating, managing and controlling funds from multiple simultaneous customers

  • Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Program Manager (PM) Certification

  • Familiarity with the USAF Operational Training Infrastructure

  • Former military aviator

  • Security :
