Under general supervision of the Principal Investigator, and in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures, conducts a variety of routine experiments where methodologies are clearly established.
Routine tests may include receiving and processing specimens from participants in clinical studies, including separating plasma, cells, and serum; preparing cells for cryopreservation; establishing HIV-1 cultures.
Prepares and maintains tissue cultures.
Prepare specimens for shipment in accordance with all applicable shipping regulations.
Record data, summarizes, and analyzes results using basic statistics.
Prepares laboratory reagents, chemicals, instruments, and equipment.
Maintains specimen inventory in accordance with laboratory procedures.
Discusses progress of work regularly with supervisor.
All other duties, as assigned.
BA and relevant laboratory experience or BS in a biological/physical science.EEO Statement
