JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education Or Formal Training High school education or equivalent preferred.# Special Qualifications (licensure, registration, etc.) Must be able to perform the duties of a housekeeping assistant. Knowledge, Skill And Ability Must be able to read, write and follow written instructions, and to understand and follow verbal instructions. Must have a thorough knowledge of hospital housekeeping and its procedures including use# of chemicals.# Must have knowledge of housekeeping equipment, including buffers, and carpet# extractors. Experience One year of on the job institutional or commercial housekeeping experience preferred. MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED Will be able to use any of the following: carpet extractors, (3 sizes); high speed burnisher; swing buffer; upright vacuum; wet vac; floor scrubber; tank vacuum; trash compactor; wheeled trash cart; furniture moving aids.# Must be able to use floor mops, wall mops, various cleaning chemicals (sprayed and non-sprayed), floor care products (strippers, sealers, polishes, buffing compounds), buckets, toilet swabs, rags. WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES This is a health care/hospital environment.# Employees can expect to be subjected occasionally# to unpleasant odors and unsightly conditions.# May be exposed to cytotoxic drugs. Physical Activities: One or a combination of any of: standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, crouching, squatting, twisting, pushing/pulling, and reaching (including high or overhead, medium, and low arm movement).
