The Risk Management Data Engineer (RMDE) designs, populates and administers relational databases and produces reporting to enable BOKF's Enterprise Data Analytics Team to design and implement solutions to complex modeling problems. In carrying out the responsibilities of this position, the RMDE leverages data aggregation and analysis tools as well as relevant data analytics knowledge to provide accurate and timely data to the analysts responsible for implementing BOKF's model development and validation functions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Database and Process Design

  • Installs, designs, populates, maintains, and administers moderately complex corporate relational databases of financial and non-financial business information.
  • Consults with and guides the Enterprise Data Analytics team on the resolution of complex problems/stability issues as well as on-going technical problem solving and resolution of database processes.
  • Proactively identifies and recommends new database structures and design modifications to existing databases and processes.
  • Utilizes corporate data sources for new business information and better sources of data feeds.
  • Formulates clear and concise written documentation of report design and data sources in accordance with OCC and BOKF guidelines.
  • Provides technical support, software/systems configuration, and testing and implementation for the Enterprise Data Analytics team and other Risk Division users as appropriate.
  • Ensures data quality and validation controls are maintained in support of accurate reporting

Data Extraction, Transformation for Model Deployment

  • Designs and implements processes for deploying models developed in R and Python for LOB stakeholders.
  • Effectively partners with LOB stakeholders to determine requirements and incorporate those into the data extraction and transformation processes.
  • Leverages database expertise and data visualization abilities, designs database structure and attendant exposure reports.
  • Performs testing of data extraction and transformation solutions.

  • Anticipates and identifies issues inhibiting the attainment of assigned goals; develops and implement corrective actions.
  • Researches relevant industry, financial services and regulatory issues to build upon knowledge base, identifying trends and shares insights with the Enterprise Data Analytics team.
  • Stays informed about trends, directions, and technologies in relevant industries.
  • Aligns team members to shared goals and creates opportunities for teamwork.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Finance, Economics, or related field

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience and demonstrated expertise with:
  • Data aggregation and analysis with tools such as R, SQL, SAS, Python, Excel/VBA, or comparable software
  • Relational database administration, SQL processing as well as precise and inclusive documentation of design and data extraction processes
  • Data visualization, translation as well as report building/automation
