If so, the Big Tac team is looking for a Systems Engineer to be part of a dynamic team that models the constructive environments in support of Training Systems for several fixed wing fighter programs. Engineers on this team are responsible for all phases of the modeling lifecycle including derived requirements, architecture, design, implementation and test. This includes the tools and applications associated with the planning, operating, monitoring and controlling of a Real Time constructive forces simulation. They are also directly involved in planning their own work as part of the agile methodology, with a focus on technical excellence and customer satisfaction. Understanding of working with a software development team is desired as knowing the lifecycle of a software product will be extremely important. Your role includes project management, technical leadership, requirements definition, and translation of requirements into user stories for the agile software developers to implement. Work closely with the Product Owners and software engineers in defining subsystem level software features and executable backlog items, while helping to continuously prioritize and groom team backlogs. You will work on a fast paced, highly collaborative agile software team developing innovative solutions to complex aircraft training requirements across a wide variety of Boeing and non-Boeing platforms.

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor Degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics or physics. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
  • Current and Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance
  • Prior experience with Software Development in an Agile environment.
  • Control Account Manager (CAM) that manages project Earned Value Management (EVM) cost and schedule baselines.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Previous experience as a Product Owner or Product Owner in an Agile environment.
  • A strong background working with software development team(s) with experience decomposing stories into vertical slices of features.

Relocation:
This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Travel:
Occasional travel (10%) may be required in support of the program and customer.

Security Clearance:

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
