Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director to establish dynamic room settings within the corporate vision
  • Establish effective work schedules for Visual Coordinators
  • Maintain and validate Visual Weekly Checklists
  • Review and provide feedback to Visual Coordinators
  • Solicit feedback from Store Managers on visual effectiveness
  • Ensure stores maintain acceptable visual standards consistent with the company's vision
  • Adhere to all company safety and security policies and practices
  • Communicate with the Visual Merchandise Administrative Supervisor(s) to ensure schedules, purchase orders, and other administrative related issues are timely and accurate
  • Work with the Visual Merchandise Supervisor with the flow of assigned special projects to include but not limited to coordination of scheduling, timeline and product placement
  • Serve as a key member of the New Store Set-Up Team
  • Identify and correct all visual inconsistencies
  • Ensure Visual Coordinators maintain the proper classification and adjacency flow by department in assigned store locations
  • Ensure Visual Coordinators maximize selling space and merchandising potential in each store
  • Review sales by classification before determining any major floor moves to properly effect sales
  • Continually critique and challenge your own merchandising approach to ensure visual excellence
  • Effectively communicate with Store line Management, Visual Coordinators, Team Members and Corporate contacts:
    • Merchandising concerns and practices
    • Update accordingly on special projects as assigned
    • Ensures stores are aware and adhere to all corporate directives
    • Ensure Visual Coordinators are aware, up to date and adhering to company policies
    • Develop constructive relationships throughout the stores
    • Provide detailed feedback regarding visual Impact in assigned stores

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years prior retail merchandising/display experience in a multi-store environment
  • Product knowledge of furniture lines and accessories and/or relevant experience within other areas of retail or related environment (e.g. apparel, etc.)
  • Creative vision and strategic outlook
  • Confident in variety of merchandising situations/challenges and effectively address them in a timely manner
  • Strong knowledge of visual merchandising techniques and strategies
  • The ability to anticipate merchandising concerns before they occur and take appropriate action to correct them
  • Ability to accept merchandising direction for self-improvement and company objectives
  • Strong influencing, communication and decision making skills
  • Strong multi tasking and time management skills
  • Some computer knowledge required: Microsoft Outlook ,Word, Excel
  • Ability to move items up to 50lbs without assistance. Ability to move items up to 200lbs with reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to travel up to 100% to existing stores and for new store openings
  • Weekend and late evening work is likely as major display installations often take place when the store is closed to minimize disruption to customers and staff
