Ensure that core system solutions meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues. Review and analyze Core solutions effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems. Collaborate with analysts, designers, system owners and software providers in the testing and integration of new software programs and applications. Perform new solution analysis by evaluating proposals in order to identify potential problem areas and make the appropriate recommendations. Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications of the core solutions. Identify business unit and corporate needs by gathering requirements and goals as needed. Manage core solutions partner relationship to ensure contract requirements, SLAs and customer experience solutions are met. Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application-usage best practices within the IT team and business unit partners. Along with the team, act as the subject matter expert (SME) on IT applications and solutions. Provide guidance and expertise to the IT Applications and Governance areas. Lead and coordinate core solutions upgrades, integrations and development activities. Communicate and report issues with core solutions to the appropriate management teams, vendors and business units as necessary. Participate in the planning, development and executing conversion and system integration requirements and activities. Work with internal auditors and examiners in their quarterly and annual reviews and audits, coordinating core solutions related inquiries and requests. Perform vendor due diligence activities to ensure regulatory compliance by core solution providers. Plan and conduct performance appraisals of staff, administer disciplinary action, raises, bonuses, and promotions when necessary.Job Qualifications/Requirements Required: Minimum Years of Experience:o 5+ years banking experience working with core and ancillary systemso 5+ years of experience managing application development and/or systems managemento 10+ years of experience working in the IT/IS industry Required: Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone. Required: Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or customer complaints. Required: Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, employees, regulators, or board members. Required: Excellent analytical skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Required: Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Required: Ability to research and identify application / product issues. Required: Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management. Required: Substantial exposure to data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, and outsourced systems. Required: Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving security problems. Required: Ability to demonstrate a high level of ethical behavior and follow the Code of Conduct. Required: Organizational ability with strong supervisory and management skills. Required: Ability to remain flexible in order to adapt to changes in the work environment. Required: All managers and supervisors are responsible to comply with and enforce the End-user Computing Agreement. They are also responsible for establishing controls that incorporate:o Segregation of duties and appropriate supervisiono Transaction reconciliationo Review and clearing of exception items and conditionso Review of regularly occurring functions and reportso Reporting of discrepancies or differences in operating functions or generated reportso Protection and security of equipment, software and confidential datao Maintaining adequate environmental controlso Monitoring and maintaining control over the use of laptop computers Required: They are also responsible for:o Adequate staff training on the appropriate use of systems, handling of diskettes and media, security policies and protection of confidential information.o Periodic review of adherence to established security controlso Reporting security deficiencies to the Information Security Officero Protection of confidential information and recordso Ensuring that all critical data is saved on the default server drives assigned to each user for automated backup Required: Considerable knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations.
