Job Description BAE Systems is looking for a well-qualified senior configuration analyst with 10 years of demonstrated experience to join our Configuration Management team at the Surface Combat System Center located at Wallops Island, Virginia. The job entails supporting all configuration management processes that provide for identifying, documenting and controlling the configuration of Hardware and Software Baselines in support of US naval ships. The applicant will be responsible for identify, documenting, controlling and reporting multiple baselines. Duties will include keeping CM processes and instructions updated and ensuring the CM team is trained and mentored. The right applicant will be able to coordinate and analyze moderately complex technical documents and alterations / Ship Change Documents as part of the configuration planning and identification process, support the site Configuration Control processes as well as providing timely and accurate configuration status accounting reports. Responsibilities include the following:Perform Configuration Management (CM) in accordance with the SCSC Configuration Management Plan and Procedures in accordance with SCSC instructions 4130.XX (series).Work with Engineering community to identify and document new baseline configurations. Document new configuration requirements in Government CM / 3M databases. Perform Configuration Item, (CI) Identification. Assign baseline and CI unique identifiers and verify the items installed against the approved baseline configuration. Perform Configuration Control. Provide engineering support for the preparation and technical review of changes packages, both internal and external changes. Manage SCSC contractor and government Configuration Control Board processes. Track and provided change status for all approved changes.Perform Configuration Audits (CA). Report on the results of audits and plans to correct discrepancies. Perform Configuration Status Accounting (CSA). Perform configuration analysis and update configuration databases and files. Provide accurate and timely configuration status reports. Perform coordination, scheduling, and planning for field modifications / alteration to include Ship Change Documents (SCDs), Ordinance Alterations (ORDALTS), Field Changes (FC), and Engineering change Proposals (ECPs). CM shall generate and submit change packages for field modification / alterations to the Government.Typical Education & Experience Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experienceRequired Skills and Education Education and years of experience required: High School and at least 10 years of demonstrated experience in configuration management processes for both hardware and software. Must be proficient in MICROSOFT office applications and posses good verbal and written communication skills.Security clearance requirements: Must be eligible to obtain and then maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
