The Senior Actuary - Annuity Model Development role will beresponsible for model development in Moodys AXIS to support various actuarial needs,from valuations of IFRS/GAAP, valuations of Stat, hedging, to strategicplanning, for the annuity side of the business. Given the goal of highly automatedmodeling platform in the near future, we are looking for a motivated individualwho possesses strong understanding of actuarial concepts and strong knowledgein annuity business in U.S., is good at programming and system design, and ownsstrong communication skills to join our exciting and versatile team indesigning the models for the future.

Responsibilities will include:

Thisindividual will be part of the Annuity Model Development team, focusing on thefollowing responsibilities:

  • AXIS modelmaintenances and enhancements:
  • Implement assumptionchanges and model enhancements and quantify and validate the impacts
  • Document modelchanges per model governance requirements
  • Remediate existingmodel findings
  • Actively identifyand implement model enhancements to increase efficiency
  • Oversee creationof quarterly compressed and seriatim inforce files
  • Build new productsand new series/versions of the existing products in the models
  • Actuarial projectsupports
  • Model merge, modelparametrization, and process automation
  • Inforce dataupdates
  • Regulatorychanges, e.g. VM20, VM21, VM31, and LDTI
  • CapitalForecasting and Strategic Plan modeling
  • Work closely andfriendly with clients from EEM team, production team, pricing team, etc.

  • QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Statistics and/or Actuarial Science
  • Minimum of ASA designation and/or nearly/newly FSA designation
  • 5+ years of insurance modeling or valuation experience
  • 2+ years liability expertise and/or asset-liability modeling experience in annuity business
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to Moodys GGY AXIS is preferred
  • Effectively balancing multiple projects/responsibilities in working with key stakeholders
  • Ability to partner will all levels within company
  • Results oriented, accountable and motivated to take ownership of project(s)
  • Capacity to supervise one actuarial student
  • Capacity and eagerness to challenge and influence in a highly collaborative way
