The VP, Services - Digital and Strategic Marketing is responsible for activities that are best performed globally and across all services business segments as a center of excellence. This role will lead the following segments for the Avantor Services organization: portfolio & governance, marketing & strategy, digital platform and business.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)
Portfolio & Governance support : Support M&A activities, provide oversight across key project and initiatives of the Service BU. Implementing portfolio management approach to support prioritization and decision making, as well as ensuring timely execution of projects. Oversee the bowlers, KPIs and A3s project across all business segments and drive timely and execution. Establish a service wide sales pipeline review process, build expertise in pricing guidance and pricing analytics. Serve as the main contact point for a knowledge management database that will support marketing and sales activities globally
Marketing & Strategy Lead the BU wide strategy development and marketing effort. Lead the development of the marketing messages for the service BU, including the development of standard corporate presentation and USP, and management of the website content. Together with the business segments, develop annual marketing plans and campaigns, and will collaborate with Marcom for the effective execution.
Digital Platforms - Services Establish IT roadmaps for the Service BU, for both ERP collaboration and optimization between all the services delivery operations, and consistent analysis of financial and commercial data. Development a digital road map that will define enhancements to the current platform and further integration with internal or external website, e-commerce platforms and solutions.
Development of Digital as a Business Leverage internal and external data to develop Digital Lab Solution offering that targets both large and small customers. Define the pricing model and the Go to Market leveraging existing commercial capabilities in the regions as well as digital. Coincide with a roadmap with clear milestones and success evaluation criteria, with the goal to establish Avantor as a player in the Lab Digital Space.
Leadership Partner with internal and external stakeholders to continuously improve performance. Ability to translate complex and varied inputs including market data, client and executive insights, and broad industry research into actionable programs Solid project management skills and proven effectiveness at strategic relationship- building across internal and external stakeholders Strong sales orientation; takes initiative to implement necessary tactics to successfully execute strategic programs in collaboration with Sales team Actively partner and collaborate with cross-functional Integrated Marketing and Brand Marketing teams to ensure a consistent message and focus across all consumer touch points. Build a world-class team through defining the optimal internal organization structure, necessary roles/headcount, and appropriate set of 3rd party partner relationships as we continue to grow and mature the business Oversee update cycle of comprehensive suite of marketing materials, conducting regular audits to test effectiveness. Gather data to develop well-informed and effective strategic plans
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications) 15+ years of experience in technology/digital marketing/ecommerce. Industry experience in life science required. Bachelor Degree required. MBA preferred. Minimum 5 years of direct experience leading and developing others. Successfully work in a highly matrixed environment Demonstrated experience with implementing digital & marketing initiatives that will scale to support the requirements of a growing organization with multiple brands. Deep understanding of the digital environment, data analytics and evolving tools and platforms used to improve operations and customer experience. Deep understanding of the lab workflows and requirements Strong leadership and consensus building skills, with willingness to continually embrace personal and professional development. Strong communication and presentation skills at leadership level.
