As the Director Software Engineering, you will be responsible for leading the development and building of both our internal Enterprise platforms as well as our SaaS platforms. You will set the development standards, implement best practices, and provide both leadership and mentorship to the broader technology team. You will partner with leaders from other core business units to deliver efficient, best-in-class, customer-focused, and scalable solutions that our employees and customers are excited to have.

Experience managing and scaling a development team through rapid growth.
Direct experience in building and managing complex solutions based on Cloud technologies, including
private, public, and/or hybrid cloud solutions.
Deep experience in the software development life cycle best practices, including coding standards,
code reviews, source control management, QA, Database architecture, build processes, testing, deployment,
and the management of technical debt.
Strong hands-on Full Stack application development and SaaS development experience that includes experience
across languages and projects.
Strong and determined leader who can guide the teams character, direction, and strategy. Will set high
standards and inspire trust, while at the same time challenging the status quo.
Coordinate and work with Product Managers to manage priorities and timelines.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of department in order to anticipate and accommodate all technical needs.
Develop and maintain technical standards, policies and procedures.
Oversee the creation and maintenance of company technology-related documentation.
Manage a team of engineers, architects and/or development managers.
May perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE or SKILLS:
Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline preferred

While performing general office duties for this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and/or walk around (including the use of stairs). Other demands include the ability to openly communicate with others by talking, listening and reading, able to lift light objects (<25lbs), and use standard office equipment such as computer, printer, phone and cell phone. In addition there is an occasional need to bend, twist or stoop in order to open/close cabinets, reach for files or other standard office type objects.
The office environment is generally quiet and in a temperature controlled setting with random adjustments in noise or temperature due conversations, unscheduled maintenance repairs to the building or its interior offices or unpredictable situations due to weather or other acts beyond company control.
An employee must be willing to work their regularly assigned work schedule for their particular duties and/or job responsibilities and in times of need, be able to work an extended schedule depending on company/department needs, project requirements or customer demands. Some overnight travel is required to facilitate work objectives. While at client site locations, if applicable, employee will be required to adhere to the proper safety precautions established by the client while in proximity to their work area, flight-line or maintenance repair center; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment. The temperature at client locations can vary from controlled to variations off hot/cold when working, standing or walking in or near the flight-line or maintenance repair center.
