Company:. Daramic, LLC. Job Description:. Role Summary/Purpose:. The Director of Operational excellence reports to the VP Integrated Planning of Daramic. This role is responsible for setting direction that will improve operational performance efficiency and effectiveness across plants in America, Europe and Asia. This includes setting and implementing strategies that drive overall improvements in OI, leveraging and managing the global engineering team to improved product quality, manufacturing processes, reduction in waste and minimizing variation throughout the business.. Mature and drive the global implementation of the Daramic EH&S processes and objectives, Business Operating System (BOS) focusing on Operational Excellence including Lean/Six Sigma, Tiered Accountability, 5S, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and other Business Excellence tools.. Key Responsibilities:. Responsible for managing, developing, implementing and monitoring programs, policies and procedures that pertain to environmental, health, safety for Daramic globally. Execute on Daramic's current business plan to achieve revenue and profitability commitments. Establish and manage operational objectives, key performance indicators, and standardize business processes and metrics across the global operations.. Establish an annual productivity plan; track and build contingency plans to meet financial and operational commitments.. Establish and lead the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, by managing and leveraging the global engineering team while improving the overall manufacturing flexibility at each plant.. Evaluate plant capacity constraints and develop proposals for new or expansion facilities.. Develop and implement a three year capital manufacturing and engineering strategy to achieve lowest cost manufacturing for chosen product lines and market segments.. Collaborate with peers to create best practices related to all functions to further align with overall business strategy.. Develop and manage annual financial benefit and cost budgets related to major initiatives.. Ensures general practices are consistent with company policies, environmental and safety standards, service standards and applicable laws and regulation. Background and Qualifications:. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations and an MBA or Masters in a related field is preferred. 10+ years of manufacturing experience, managing multiple sites and preferably with a world class lean organization, which includes manufacturing, materials management, quality, business process improvement and Environmental, Safety and Health (ES&H) background.. Demonstrated use of continuous improvement systems, tools and processes including Management Operating Systems (MOS), Lean/Six Sigma; with the ability to use methodologies including, but not limited to, Goal Deployment, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5S implementation, TPM, one-piece flow, etc.. International experience implementing Business Excellence and Operational Excellence initiatives and proven track record of developing and implementing Management Operating Systems (MOS) and Lean/Six Sigma processes while growing businesses.. Strong planning, organization and problem solving skills, which includes making decisions and recommendations with high amounts of uncertainty. Ability to handle multiple projects and competing priorities.. Lean Expert and/or Green/Black Belt certified.. Must have proven/experience and working knowledge of the Toyota Production System (TPS) or other internationally known management operating system(s).. Ability to communicate Lean/Six Sigma and MOS principles to all levels, internal and external, technical and non-technical.. Results oriented with history of getting breakthrough results through the implementation of lean/six sigma tools.. Strong planning, organization and problem solving skills, which includes making decisions and recommendations with high amounts of embedded uncertainty.. Ability to handle multiple projects and competing priorities. Demonstrated participative leader that fosters teamwork and achieves results through others. Demonstrated ability to retain and hire the best people. Demonstrated ability to execute on expansion initiatives. Solid business experience in Americas, Europe and Asia. Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time and includes both domestic and international trips. Background in plastics, engineered materials, semi-conductor, and metals preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft office products, including Excel, Word and Project. Special Skills. Strong intellectual, strategic and analytical ability..
