Armstrong Flooring, Inc. (AFI), has an opportunity for an Accounting Manager, SG&A located in Lancaster, PA. As a member of our Corporate Controllers team, the Accounting Manager, SG&A will be responsible for all Sales, General & Administration (SG&A) accounting including supporting standard reporting, budgeting & forecasting, and compliance & internal control while working closely with other corporate departments and business unit segments. Areas of responsibility will include advertising and promotional accounting for samples, merchandising, and displays as well as administering the sales incentive programs for North America. The Accounting Manager, SG&A will also have oversight of inter-company reconciliations, bank reconciliations, core SG&A accounting, and maintenance of financial master data in consolidation systems, including month end closing process.Location 2500 Columbia Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17604Accounting Manager, SG&A Salary $87,000 - $120,000 + bonus, based on experience (Gr. 11/12)How You'll Contribute To The Team Provide accounting oversight and guidance for all North American SG&A related transnational accounting activities Accounting for samples, merchandising, and displays in SAP, including building standards, prepaid expenses, no charge shipments, and obsolescence Calculate, administer proper accounting, and submit payments for Sales Incentive Programs for U.S. and Canada Oversight of inter-company reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and core SG&A accounting such as accounting for medical, legal, environmental, and IT activities Oversight of financial master data in consolidation systems and month end closing process Occasional travel for inventory audits, conferences, vendor meetings or similar activities may be required (<10%) Compliance Confirm and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies and procedures Provide SOX compliance and audit reviews Liaison and coordinate with internal and external auditors Oversee reconciliation of general ledger and sub ledger accounts Team Development Direct supervision of 1-2 accounting professionals Develop staff to be subject matter experts for accounting responsibilities within the department Effective Communication and Support for Internal Customers Performance of all activities in a timely, relevant, and accurate manner to meet internal customer expectations Communication with colleagues at various locations or corporate departments to resolve issues and closing discrepancies, including root cause analysis and updating of all supporting documentation (desktop procedures, workflows, checklists, policies, internal controls, etc.) Prepare actionable reporting and analysis to support the company's financial closings and internal/external reporting processes and to ensure the reliability of reported results Process Improvement Recommend, develop, and implement changes to continually improve processes and effectiveness of the Finance and Accounting Operations Support business initiatives and accounting guidance changes through project work Effectively utilize appropriate ERP system and miscellaneous software to drive process efficiencies, lower service delivery cost and increase effectiveness RequirementsWhat you'll bring to the table Accounting degree, Business degree, Finance degree, or related function; Bachelor's required 7+ years of related experience in various financial roles 3+ years accounting experience in SG&A Experience managing or mentoring employees through technical work and professional development We'll be excited if you have Experience with Hyperion Enterprise, SAP or similar ERP, and Excel Revenue accounting experience Formal or informal experience leading others Good organization and process management skills Strong interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through tight deadlines and complexity BenefitsYou'll see it in the vibrant colors of your school hallway, doctors and nurses will walk it while caring for your loved ones, your family will gather on it while creating everlasting memories.
