The Director of Large Group Account Management in the Downstate New York market will report directly to the RVP of Sales and play an important role in the overall relationship management between Empire and its brokers, general agents and consultant partners. This role will be responsible for managing up to 15 direct reports.
Location: New York City or Long Island
Responsible for directing the account management and retention activities for the company's medical and specialty products, in addition to alternative Large Group product types such as Balanced Funding, Group Retiree and Health and Wellness.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Provides leadership and strategic direction to ensure profitable growth across Empires Large Group commercial product lines. Develops strategies and executes sales plans to achieve membership growth and financial targets, operating nimbly in a complex and competitive environment. Develops sales and marketing plans in partnership with external producers. Directs and motivates staff to achieve monthly and annual goals. Hires, trains, coaches, mentors, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports, creating a pipeline of future leaders.
Requires a BA/BS; 8-10 years of professional/leadership experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Excellent managerial and leadership skills required.Candidate must have a proven track record of strong sales and / or retention results in the group insurance industry.
