Amalgamated Bank seeks an experienced Wealth Manager to work full-time as an investment advisor representative with mission-aligned consumers, high net worth (HNW) individuals, and institutional clients by creating portfolios that meet their financial needs and objectives. Additionally, in situations where an advisory relationship is not suitable, the Wealth Manager will be able to provide transactional brokerage services to their clients. This position will be based in our office in New York City, Washington, DC, or San Francisco.
Essential Job Functions:
* Meet or exceed sales targets, including growth of existing relationships and new customer acquisition. * Effectively communicate investment concepts and strategies to prospective and existing customers. * Field investment services leads generated from the Commercial Bank, Donor Advised Fund (DAF), and non-branch channels. * Maintain an expertise in ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) investing strategies and trends; including knowledge of leading managers and their impact/advocacy work. * Perform a high standard of customer service as expected by an affluent clientele. * Manage on-going portfolio management of proprietary Fossil Fuel Free advisory models, including due diligence of current and future holdings, and providing attribution reporting/analysis. * Work with Marketing Department on collateral/communications for advisory clients, including performance reporting and pitch decks for prospective clients. * Submit pipeline report including lead status and scheduled follow-up communication dates. * Develop and use prospecting lists. * Meet regularly with prospects/customers in-person or by phone. * Attend Consumer Investment team meetings/training. * Maintain active working relationships with colleagues across departments.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience * Licenses: * Series 7 (required) * Series 66 or 63+65 (required) * Life Insurance (preferred) * Minimum three years' experience working in the investment advisory space with HNW/institutional clients * Deep understanding of portfolio construction/modern portfolio theory * Knowledge and past use of ESG/impact investment strategies * Possesses a transportable existing book of business * Self-motivated with ability to work independently and manage time effectively * Competency with MS Office suite * Strong verbal, written, inter-personal and public presentation skills * Ability to learn rapidly and work in a high pressure environment * Proven track records of individual excellence in sales or similar goals based environments * Ability to handle rejection, conflicts, and complaints
