Advanced Schools is partnering with a local school district to hire a School-Based Psychologist for a job near the Fort Morgan, CO area. This job will be working with one of the top districts in the area to provide services to children of all ages. The School Psychologist will work with the district assessment team comprised of an Educational Evaluator and a Speech Language Pathologist to complete all special education eligibility determinations. Additionally, the School Psychologist will consult with school based teams on behavior and therapeutic concerns. Clear, articulate written and verbal communication is a must, as is the ability to explain results to a varied audience. Candidates with previous school experience a plus! Essential duties for the School Psychologist will be to provide counseling services to students on IEPs as well as to the regular education population (mood disorders, autism, anxiety, depression, ADHD, social skill deficits, conduct disorders) in order to foster positive coping strategies, motivation, and skill development. This person will also coordinate outreach activities that support students and families including pediatricians, outside counseling agencies and agencies such as DCF, DMH, etc. Job Requirements include: Completion of a criminal record check; Licensing as a School Psychologist by the State Department of Education; Completion of Masters degree or higher in school psychology approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), including an advanced practicum of 1,200 hours, 600 of which must be in a school setting; Excellent skills in the areas of teamwork, oral and written communication, and organization; Current authorization to work in the United States.
