The EB Finance Specialist will report to the National Employee Benefits Practice Leader and be responsible for invoicing, commission tracking, monthly budget variance review and other finance-related duties to support the Practice. This role requires an individual who is a self-starter, understands accounting and finance functions, able to work in a team environment, detail-oriented with demonstrated problem solving and excel skills. This individual will collaborate extensively with the Practice Leadership, Practice Operations Specialist, Client Service Teams, as well as working closely with the WS Finance team. We are open to hiring in any of the following areas where we have an office - CA: Sacramento, Novato, San Francisco, Walnut Creek, Irvine / Portland, OR / Denver, CO. Responsibilities: * Monitor monthly commission receipt and variance against expected revenue to include: * Reviewing monthly forecasts with regional Practice Leaders (3 regions) and following up on variances, * For identified missing commissions, follow up with carriers and track status of missing commissions through receipt by WS Finance Department, * Proactively meet with Account Executives to review their client (book of business) to follow up on missing commissions not identified in the variance process, * Work with finance and AE's as needed to address commission issues * Contribute to process improvement around commission tracking * Manage invoicing process for Practice * Participate and support the Practice in the annual budgeting process * Work with the Practice Leader to manage supplemental commission program * Look for process improvement/efficiencies for the Practice and Finance serving as the Employee Benefits liaison with Finance * Assist with various financial and analytical ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned Skills and Experience * 3-5 years' experience in professional services environment with accounting responsibilities or direct insurance company or broker commission experience * Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, etc.). * Excellent verbal and written communication, critical thinking, customer service and problem solving skills * Precise attention to detail and data accuracy * Ability to complete multiple takes, establish appropriate priorities and meet deadlines Associated topics: customer, guest, health, insurance agent, insurance sales, insurance sales agent, life insurance agent, sales position, sales professional, sales representative
