We are looking for self-motivated and passionate Director, Software Product Development for a key role within our Health, Learning, Research and Practice Organization. This position interfaces with the technology organization and its business counterparts to deliver fluid, engaging and responsive web/mobile platforms for Medical Professionals delivering highest quality content. The candidate will be responsible for multiple SCRUM teams to deliver large customer facing, content rich applications. The candidate is an individual with positive attitude, deep understanding of software development process, great communication skills and business acumen.

Responsibilities:

* Analyze business and user requirements, develop system architectures to meet those requirements, and design software solutions to implement the architectures.
* Provide leadership and guidance for architecting, designing, building, documenting and testing software solutions for the existing and new products.
* Extend corporate and strategic architectures/services into line-of-business solutions.
* Lead coordination and communication across Development team, Project Mangers, Operations team, and QA teams for development projects.
* Work with product managers and management on prioritization, scope definition, cost & effort estimations, risk/issue resolutions for respective components/projects.
* Champion, collaborate, and drive cloud-based application development, deployments, best practices across multiple development projects.
* Lead and mentor multiple SCRUM teams with onshore and offshore resources in suitable software development disciplines and new technologies
* Provide technical leadership and direction to software development staff, perform code reviews with other software developers.
* Own the delivery of products and features as defined by the product roadmap coordinated with Product Management
* Work with the other Engineering leaders as well as Product Management to determine the requirements necessary to deliver roadmap items.
* Adhere to existing agile software development policies and procedures and develop new procedures and standards in software process improvement initiatives.
* Effectively deliver product fixes and service packs as required, as well as coordinate efficient and repeatable fix delivery cycles
* Supervise, assign, and schedule staff and consultants for research and development projects with a minimum of supervision.
* Support management, execution, and integration of automated testing strategies.
* Participate in the management of budget and planning activities related to software development.
* Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies for software development. Stay abreast of current trends and technologies and introduce them into development process.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or higher preferred in a technically oriented field, preferably Computer Science or a related discipline.
* A minimum of 10+ years of experience in a software development/delivery-based position, with at least seven years of experience managing team(s) and leading increasingly complex and challenging projects that have led to the delivery of technology solutions into business organizations
* Must be a hands-on leader that can and has the willingness to code and deliver solutions, if and when required.
* Manage, support and guide engineering team towards professional growth
* Extensive experience and knowledge of data-structures, data-modeling, relational (SQL) databases is required.
* In-Depth knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) techniques and design patterns
* Ability to manage multiple teams and projects across a wide array of diverse technologies.
* OS - Linux, Windows
* Cloud providers: AWS and Azure
* Technologies: Perl, C++, Java, Javascript, C#


* Ability to interact/communicate with various business stakeholders (at all levels), partners and customers.
* Experience providing informal technical guidance and leadership and conducting design and code reviews
* Solid understanding of software enterprise architecture, the application of technology and full life-cycle software application implementations
* Ability to handle aggressive project schedules, changing business requirements, ownership and commitment, and strict release deadlines.
* Experience with release/deployment processes with a strong understanding and use of relational database methodologies and solutions
* Experience in working with one or more of the following:
* Enterprise Architecture
* Project and Program Management
* Systems Design and Delivery,
* And/or Infrastructure teams


* Experience in Agile/Scrum development practices, as well as experience developing web services or micro-service-based applications
* Content Technologies experience is also a bonus as the platform houses applications for content retrieval, search, and/or publishing systems is a plus.
* Experience in Cloud based Application development including but not limited to best practices such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery is a plus.
