The incumbent operateshoists, holders and pulleys when removing units such as largecompressors, condensers and chillers. The incumbent makes repairsand installations from ladders, scaffoldings and platforms where theparts of systems worked on are frequently in hard-to-reach places;therefore, frequently stretching, bending and kneeling for longperiods of time are required. In some places, crawling is requiredto reach a piece of equipment or pump. The incumbent usually worksinside but is occasionally required to work outside on top of tallbuilding during periods of inclement weather, in drafty attic spacesand in cramped areas with low overheads. Uncomfortable face masksand protective clothing may be occasionally worn when there is apossibility of exposure to hazards. The incumbent is subject tocuts, burns, electrical shocks and respiratory ailments.
