What you'll be doing...

As a Senior Manager of Network Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring service delivery and reliability of Verizon's world class Voice, Video, and Data networks, and at the best cost. You will lead a diverse team of 75+ technical and administrative support employees in the Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware areas that perform 24x7 installation, maintenance, and preventative maintenance of TDM switching, Transport, Layer 2/Layer 3 Switches/Routers, FTTP/Fios PON, and Video network equipment providing voice, data, and video services. Responsibilities include:

* Leading a team of Management and bargained for Associate employees responsible for the installation, maintenance, and preventative maintenance of network (inside plant) infrastructure within Verizon's Central Office facilities.
* Delivering operational compliance, monitoring expense and managing to financial objectives, leading and executing corporate initiatives, scaling team performance, responding to internal and external/customer escalations, and managing the internal stakeholder /social system for optimal support toward business targets (Network & Customer Operations Centers, Network Engineering, Field/Outside Plant Operations, Public Relations, Marketing, and Support Staff teams).
* Responding to, coordinating resources for, and communicating status of major network/customer outages and/or escalations.
* Establishing and communicating policies and procedures balanced against the customer needs and overall business priorities.
* Conducting and/or leading root cause analysis and providing remediation options for outages.
* Providing coaching and mentoring to team through ongoing performance and career management.
* Monitoring internal metrics and establishing supportive, innovative, or corrective plans to ensure optimal performance levels and financial efficiency are achieved.
* Interpreting current collective bargaining labor agreements and participating in the grievance process.
* Leading Staff Support team that provides internal reporting and analysis, development of Executive presentations, project management of key organizational initiatives, material ordering, and invoice processing.
* Solving problems by digging into the details to determine root causes, quantifying impact, and pursing impactful solutions.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

* Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
* Six or more years of relevant work experience.
* Experience leading teams of 25 or more employees.
* Willingness to be on-call after hours, holidays, and on weekends.
* Experience creating and delivering presentations.
* Experience leading projects to completion using collaboration, conflict resolution, solution driven analysis, exceptional communication, and project management methodology.
* A valid driver's license.
* Travel 25%.

Even better if you have:

* A degree.
* Knowledge of Central Office environments, AC/DC power infrastructure, and engineering/installation standards (ex. IP72202).
* Experience successfully leading teams through cultural transformation, with proven track record of performance in productivity, quality and safety measurements.
* The ability to create engagement, motivation, and a sense of ownership in your team members.
* Experience leading teams that contain bargained for employees.
* Transport, Fiber Optic, FTTP/Fios PON, Layer 2/Layer 3 LAN/WAN, and/or TDM Switching based technology experience.
* Technical training or experience in telecommunications or electronics.
* Experience managing a Capital and Expense budget.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, or conflicting, priorities across multiple functional areas within Operations.
* Experience developing executive presentations and presenting to senior leaders.
* Advanced knowledge of computer operating systems.
* The ability to think strategically with a focus on implementation and execution.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite tools (e.g., Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Sheets, Docs, Slides, Drive).
