This position will be a key member of the Venerable Investment Management team, contributing to and supporting the management of the investment strategies and portfolios of Venerable. This will include understanding all aspects of the investment portfolio, analyzing investment strategies, advising and interfacing with external Investment Managers as well as internal Venerable Finance, Risk, Investment Operations, and Actuarial teams, and supporting the Senior Portfolio Manager ? ?s direct relationship with senior executives. Key responsibilities will include: Contribute to the management of the investment portfolios of Venerable: Maintain day-to-day relationship with and provides guidance to investment managers for the Venerable investment portfolios Support and contribute to the development of strategic and as appropriate tactical asset allocations for the Venerable investment portfolios supporting individual products Support the analysis, management, and oversight of the fixed income asset classes used in the Venerable investment portfolios, particularly structured asset classes such as CMBS, RMBS, ABS, and CLO ? ?s. Support and contribute to the Liquidity management of Venerable, including monitoring daily liquidity needs for Venerable and the Reinsurance Trusts, recommending and implementing actions needed to maintain appropriate levels of liquidity, interfacing with Treasury on short and long term cash needs and projections, and maintaining potential FHLB borrowing program Support and contribute to the development and monitoring of compliance with the Investment Management Agreements with Voya Investment Management or other external investment managers as well as compliance with any Investment Guidelines and Investment Policies Interface with Risk, Investment Operations, Treasury, and Finance teams as well as the Investment Accounting provider as needed. Support, contribute and provide guidance and assistance to the Venerable Investment Management team and other key Venerable functions: Maintain understanding of product liability structures, asset-liability management needs and relevant legal entity structure, including Reinsurance trusts Demonstrate understanding of the investment income and yield component of earnings, capital, or other financial metrics and assist in communicating results Analyze cash flow, duration or other ALM needs of the Venerable business and assist the Senior Portfolio Manager in incorporating into the investment strategies and investment portfolio management Contribute to reporting on Venerable investment portfolios and support or coordinate the investment reporting needs and initiatives of other functions. Work closely with the Investment manager to help understand, manage and monitor asset related risks and opportunities Contribute to the partnership with Risk Management to analyze risk, ALM, and hedging strategies for specific liability types and their integration with Venerable ? ? s investment strategy. Obtain knowledge concerning industry or peer activities and trends relating to Insurance investment portfolios, demonstrating an understanding of the implications for Venerable.Qualified candidates will have the following experience, qualifications and characteristics: Chartered Financial Analyst or MBA desired; Fellow of Society of Actuaries or Associate of Society of Actuaries a plus Minimum 3 -7 years as an Insurance or Fixed Income Portfolio Manager or Analyst Demonstrated knowledge of fixed income instruments, particularly structured assets as well as portfolio management, derivatives, asset-liability management, insurance company regulations, and insurance capital frameworks Strong Fixed Income Investment experience; Knowledge of Variable Annuity products/liabilities a plus Highly analytical, strong oral and written communication skills, detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills, able to work in fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
