The transplant surgery Physician Assistant is primarily responsible for the first assist role for the procurement of abdominal organs. These procurements will take place at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania as well as other institutions within and outside of the state of Pennsylvania. Additional responsibilities include assisting in medical and surgical care of abdominal transplant patients in both the ambulatory settings as well as participating in other aspects of patient care. The PA-C will report directly to the Clinical Director for Abdominal Transplant and will also have direct reporting responsibility to the Attending Physician of the respective patients for all evaluations and other duties performed. Surgical experience in abdominal organ procurement or transplantation is desired.
