The Urology Clinical Nurse is primarily responsible for providing nursing care and patient coordination for a Male Fertility and Andrology sub-specialty practice within the Division of Urology. This unique position involves directly working with patients who may be presenting with male factor infertility, hypogonadism, sexual dysfunction, in addition to greater urologic concerns. The nurse will also serve as navigator for male cancer patients who are interested in fertility preservation as well as a liaison for the LGBTQ community to ensure the appropriate and meaningful delivery of urologic services. Above all else, this nurse will be instrumental in maintaining a compassionate environment for patients and their families.
Though this nurse will primarily be supporting one provider, he/she will be working in the Urology office with the NP/PA team to ensure safe patient practices and care with other urologic surgeons. The clinical nurse will provide continuity of care, assist with procedures, promote patient satisfaction, collaborate with staff members and foster teamwork to achieve \"best practice\" standards. The clinical nurse will provide care to patients compliant with UPHS policies and procedures.
The clinical nurse will promote confidentiality of protected information at all times. The clinical nurse will have organizational skills and ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment. The clinical nurse uses acquired knowledge to make division processes and practices effective and efficient in line with department standards. The clinical nurse promotes a team environment that values employee satisfaction and professional ownership.
