About the Unit The Department of Psychiatry provides comprehensive psychiatric services to all age groups. A team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapies, addiction counselors and clinical nurse specialists offer a range of inpatient and outpatient services for children, adolescents, adults and the elderly. The Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Inpatient Clinic serves patients in need of acute psychiatric hospitalization. The program provides crisis intervention and stabilization, comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and treatment for initial and recurrent disorders. Treatment often includes individual, group, and family therapy; behavior therapy with parent guidance; medication management; and occupational therapy. As a tertiary care center, our inpatient program is structured to accommodate patients with varying requirements for hospitalization. Job Summary This role is considered the minimum role for all nurses who have greater than 12 months experience. Provides and coordinates independent care to patients within a clinical specialty as a fully effective and participative member of the multidisciplinary patient care services team.
