This position is located in the Environmental Management Service, Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial VAMC, Walla Walla, WA. The employee reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor and is responsible for supporting the environmental care, linen distribution, moves and pest control functions throughout the facility. The employee will serve in a frontline service role primarily responsible in providing a clean, sanitized, safe and organized space for safe care to our Veterans, patients, public and internal staff. Employee is responsible for proper use and care of industrial type powered vacuum cleaners, floor machines, carpet extractors, powered cleaning equipment and a variety of common hand tools associated with cleaning tasks and assembling furniture. Employee may work as a member of a team that performs special cleaning projects, i.e. window washing, refinishing hard surface floors, shampooing carpets and/or upholstered furniture. Employee assists in assembling furniture, moving furniture, supplies and equipment associated with the relocation of hospital activities and special events. All efforts will be coordinated with department supervisors and members of senior management and are intended to be compliant with all local, EPS, OSHA, JCAHO and regulatory agencies.
