OBJECTIVE:

Provide an exceptional shopping experience for our customers at an upscale lifestyle and garden center. Terrain promises to welcome, inspire, inform, and appreciate our customers. SeasonalAssociates should have knowledge of horticultural and home dcor trends. Extensive plant knowledge is desirable, but not required. Strong communication skills and teamwork are essential. A Terrain Customer Associate must have a flexible schedule, be available to work weekends, and enjoy working outdoors.

PEOPLE:

  • Exceed customer expectations by building genuine, long lasting relationships with our guests through personalized attention. Assist customers in the transformation of their outdoor environment, indoor space, and themselves.
  • Share knowledge and experience of unique products and services with customers. Guide customers toward merchandise that will meet their needs and their unique personal style.
  • Have knowledge of and share with customers all store events (e.g., educational workshops, clubs, dinners, trips, festivals, etc.).
  • Work productively with the team and take initiative to work with others toward a common, collaborative goal.
  • Assist in the training and development of peers.
  • Possess effective and positive communication skills.
  • Actively participate in departmental and daily meetings.
  • PROCESS:

  • Assist customers in final selections and complete all point of sale functions (e.g., register functions, customer sales, returns, etc.)
  • Support sales by processing product and merchandise as needed (e.g., stocking, pricing, mark downs, etc.).
  • Maintain zoned areas as needed (e.g., tidy stock, clean area, keep items retail ready, etc.)
  • Perform all store level operational procedures accurately and in a timely fashion, in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Exhibit awareness of Loss Prevention issues and Inventory Control measures (e.g., receiving process, MOS, cycle counts, etc.)
  • PRESENTATION:

  • Apply the Terrain aesthetic to enhance the visual impact of our unique merchandise.
  • Work with team members across departments to create and maintain inspirational displays including diverse plant material, unique home dcor items, and luxurious spa products.
