The Part-Time On-Call Office Assistant will be responsible for performing routine administrative details and clerical functions requiring individual analysis, regular exercise of judgment in making decisions related to work performed for TUP Operations.
The Part-Time On-Call Office will be responsible for receiving, greeting, registering, and scheduling all patients on the IDX system. Other responsibilities include: supplying and verifying insurance information, ensuring proper completion of outpatient fee slips, obtaining pre-certifications, authorization and/or referrals, input all outpatient charges into the IDX system. The Part-Time On-Call Office will also answer telephones as required, handle queries, requests, and various problems of a complex nature on own initiative, supply and/or obtain factual information or reports and relay to appropriate individual or act upon as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
At least six months directly related experience in a medical office setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
* Demonstrated familiarity with medical terminology. * Demonstrated experience scheduling and registering patients in a medical office. * Demonstrated ability to perform clerical functions, office practices and procedures, and operation of office equipment and machines, i.e. fax, copier, telephone. * Demonstrated organizational and communication skills. * Demonstrated strong customer service experience particularly in the front desk area. * Must be able to work a flexible schedule and travel to off site locations.
* Experience in IDX, EMR and/or EPIC systems. * This is a Part-Time On-Call Position.
