Skookum, an award winning, non-profit, government and commercial contractor seeking a dynamic and dedicated Project Coordinator/Manager to join our team. As the Fort Lee Project Coordinator/Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating with company and government personnel to assemble specifications/cost estimates for facilities management projects, award subcontracts, and manage project execution from contract award to final acceptance/closeout. The Project Coordinator/Manager will also develop, execute and monitor complex maintenance/operator training programs, and provide energy management support.
Responsible for preparing information, drawings, plans and specifications to complete construction and repair projects.
Responsible for use of CAD software to develop project plans and specifications, planning documents, and other graphical representations.
Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
Manage projects as assigned and utilize the Maximo Computerized Maintenance Management System.
Confer with engineers, architects, customers, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates.
Consult with clients, vendors, and/or foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing and scheduling work.
Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, and track actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
Develop and implement maintenance programs for complex systems.
Develop and implement technical training programs for operators and maintenance personnel.
Monitor operations and maintenance of complex systems to ensure proper operations/maintenance.
Perform life cycle and energy analysis for various facilities, systems and components.
Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years' experience with construction materials, methods, practices and costs.
Ability to use Excel, Word and Outlook on a daily basis.
Understanding of terminology and practices of mechanical, electrical, architectural, and civil engineering, design, and construction management preferred.
Project management skills and certification preferred.
Professional Engineer, PMP certification and IFMA CFM preferred.
Must have strong communication and Business Systems skills.
Must be results oriented, a forward thinker, and have a strong problem-solving ability.
Ability to efficiently and effectively manage workflow and processes in a fast paced, changing environment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
Valid Driver's license required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain approval to operate a vehicle by Skookum's insurance carrier.
