Job brief

The Sales & Business Development Manager (SBDM) will manage the companys sale of solarpower projects to commercial customers through direct sales, relationship management and overseeing the business development function. Manage the business developmentassociates (BDAs) and direct the company sales process and customer relationships, from leadto close, and repeat. Coordinate with chief executives and technical leaders. Report to theChief Executive Officer.

The candidate will bring proven leadership abilities (communication, relationship building,training & development, hiring), as well as direct sales experience to manage ourmarkets in Virginia and nearby states. The SBDM will focus on achieving Company goals,articulating the Companys value proposition, managing and tracking opportunities through thesales pipeline, demonstrating accurate forecasting ability while mentoring BDAs on improvingpipeline forecasting and ultimately increasing revenue in their respective territories. Passionateabout sustainability and business ethics.

This would be an ideal position for someone who is in their early to mid professional career and has demonstrated a fast learning curve or who has retired from a professional career in this role and is seeking employment with a dynamic company that serves as a force for good.

Requirements
BA in business, marketing or related field or related field or proven work experience
Successful previous experience in B2B sales, marketing or related field
Proven track record in securing large complex asset sales with top-level management
Solid understanding of structured finance concepts such as IRR, ROI, NPV, etc.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Hands-on experience with CRM tools (e.g. Podio, Salesforce, etc.) a plus
Experience with letters of intent, contracts and contract negotiations
Familiarity with sales cycles in commercial solar a plus
Work out of Staunton, VA and also Richmond, VA office
Reliable transportation and ability to travel

Responsibilities
Manage business development team to achieve strategic objectives and key results in support of Company goals
Collaborate with the the Leadership Team in moving individual projects and project portfolios into implementationphase and engaging operations and client resources as needed to measure and celebrate performance and projectoutcomes
Craft business development strategies that assess the closing probability and closing timeframe of each prospectto achieve business development goals
Perform other duties as mutually agreed

Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment.

Physical Demands: This is largely an active yet sedentary role, requiring frequent standing, sitting, climbing stairs, and driving.

Personal Presence: The position requires carrying out a high level of professional decorum and providing a pleasing presence in professional attire.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Travel: Travel will be required for this position for meetings and conferences.
