The Engineer - Electrical Hybrid Drives is responsible for the electrical specification, integration and verification of hybrid module components at the Wooster, Ohio facility.

This position is responsible for the specification of electrical components in a hybrid module (e-motor, inverter, controls, battery, resolver and others). This includes requirements management in coordination with the program manager, development engineers, and design engineers. It also includes analysis, simulation and verification of the electrical components. Close cooperation with testing engineers is necessary to specify testing conditions, support testing and evaluate the results in regards to torque, power and temperature characteristics.
The Engineer - Electrical Hybrid Drives will work closely with the design and development groups within product development as well as engineers in other departments. This includes Development, Testing, Sales, Program Management, Production and e-motor departments in Germany. Since the Electrical Engineer will at times interact with customers and engineers from other Schaeffler facilities. This may involve travel of approximately 5% of the time. The Design Engineer is expected to adhere to the core hours of 9am to 4pm while maintaining the minimum of 40 hours per week.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, have close visual acuity and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to maneuver objects, tools. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, bend, push, pull, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 65 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
This position is required to know and understand the current specifications of the Quality Policy and procedures, as well as the Safety and Environment Policy and procedures and contribute to the achievement of the company objectives. In addition to the duties listed above, the position holder must carry out tasks assigned by his supervisor that are essentially related to his duties.
