Job Summary

The Director, Retailing and Promotions has oversight of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts brand promotions process and strategy, building comprehensive plans for successful promotions, from inception to execution to quantifying impact. This leader will draw on his/her strong experience in a previous retailing role(s) to proactively strategize new and innovative methods of driving revenue through promotions, translating business needs into effective promotional strategies that support the achievement of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts goals, at both the global and domestic levels.

As the overall point person for WH&R s promotions and retailing programs, this leader partners closely with internal stakeholders to ensure all aspects of WH&R s promotions are planned for, executed on, and successfully driving revenue. This includes: working with analytics partners to identify need periods, quantify anticipated impact, and measure financial results of promotions; partnering with digital teams to ensure e-tailing strategies are aligned with the overall promotional plans; working with distribution and revenue management operations to ensure successful operation of promotions in our reservation systems; collaborating with our global teams to ensure all regions are represented appropriately in promotions; working with brand marketing, communications, legal, and brand operations on all necessary aspects of promotions.

Responsibilties

Innovation

  • Work with partner teams to identify business needs across the WH&R system, by season, by brand, by domestic region, by global region. Identify revenue opportunities and proactively create new and innovative promotional and retailing plans for generating incremental revenue.
  • Planning & Execution

  • Lead and coordinate all efforts around planning for and executing on WH&R s promotions. This includes being the point person and communication hub for all teams involved in successfully running a promotion, including: Central Systems, Operations, Analytics, Ecommerce, Legal, Communications, Brand Marketing, and Loyalty.
  • Measurement

  • Be the point person for reporting out on performance of promotions; track impact of various promotions and use historical learnings for future promotions planning.
  • Education & Experience

    Experience/Certificates/Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, or a relevant subject.
  • 5-7+ years of progressive professional experience in a retailing, marketing, or project management environment.
  • Strong understanding of retailing best practices.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.
